Fourth Training Course for Energy Managers in Municipalities

A new round of training courses for energy managers in municipalities was held in the period between 30th October and 3rd November 2018.  The fourth training for future energy managers was attended by 25 trainees from all over the Serbia. As with previous training courses, this training was also held on the basis of a public call to interested trainees announced in June by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade, an institution that, according to the decision of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, has been authorized to conduct training activities for energy managers and energy auditors (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, No. 95/15).

The training was held in accordance to:

  1. Rulebook on implementation and contents of training courses for energy managers, costs of attending training, and requirements, the program and taking of examinations for energy managers ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 12/15);
  2. Rulebook on conditions in terms of personnel, equipment and space of the organization conducting training for energy manager and accredited energy auditors ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 12/15);
  3. Decision of the Ministry of Mining and Energy to authorise the Faculty of mechanical Engineering in Belgrade to perform training for energy managers and accredited energy auditors ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 95/15).

The regular training courses for energy managers have been held since 2016. Since then 125 trainees have attended the training for energy managers in municipalities, out of which 75 trainees have successfully passed exam for energy manager. In addition, 21 candidates have used the right to pass the exam without attending the training. In total 89 persons have obtained the license for energy manager in municipalities, out of which 38 were appointed energy managers in their local self-government units, in accordance with the Rulebook on condition of appointing energy managers in local self-government unit ’s bodies ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 31/16).

The experts of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Maja Matejić and Dragan Urošević who participated in the training as lecturers, presented in course of two day theoretical and practical training, the main features and the use of the Energy Management Information System (EMIS) to trainees.
