Another six local self-government units that are designated parties of the energy management system have delegated their representatives for a training in the use of the Energy Management Information System. A total of 100 participants have been trained. In Despotovac, Vršac and Aleksinac, the training has been delivered for the first time, while in Ivanjica, Šid and Uzice new groups of participants have been trained after the training sessions held earlier.

Trainees are employed in primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, municipal or city administration, public and utility companies, local communities, cultural institutions and sports centers in competence of these local self-government units. After the training, the trainees will be collecting energy bills (electricity and thermal energy), energy sources bills (natural gas, coal, fuel oil, firewood, etc.) and water bills and, in cooperation with their energy managers, enter data into the Energy Management Information System (EMIS).

The trainees will also be able to interpret the data collected, perform various energy consumption and cost analyses, and create all sorts of reports. Energy managers will use the data collected in this way to produce annual reports on energy consumption and savings and submit them to the Ministry of Mining and Energy, as required by the Law.

The training has been delivered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) experts supported by local energy managers.
