ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN SERBIA

First training course has commenced for energy managers in buildings

The first training course for future energy managers in building was held at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade in the period from 27th February to 4th March 2017. The training course was attended by 27 trainees from whole Serbia. The training was delivered on the basis of public call to qualified individuals employed in parties designated to energy management system such as companies whose dominant economic activity is trade and services, bodies of public administration and other authorities of the Republic of Serbia, bodies of the autonomous province and other public services, which use publicly owned buildings. The public call was published in November 2016 by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, which is the institution authorized on the basis of the decision of the Ministry of Mining and Energy to deliver training for energy managers and energy auditors.

The training program and curriculum are defined by the Rulebook on implementation and contents of training courses for energy managers, costs of attending training, and requirements, the program and taking of examinations for energy managers (The Official Gazette of RS, number 12/15).

The training course was opened by the Assistant Minister of Mining and Energy, Miloš Banjac, Ph.D., and the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Professor Radivoje Mitrović, who addressed and welcomed the participants and wished them successful training and success in their future work in the energy management field.

The training comprised of three parts: theoretical classes, practical exercises in laboratory using measuring equipment and laboratory equipment and the training in the use of specialized software tools aimed at energy management. Among others, trainees acquired the knowledge necessary for the use of Energy Management Information System (EMIS). The training for the use of EMIS consisted of 2 hours of theoretical training, 2 hours of practical exercises using computers and 2 hours of checking the acquired knowledge using computers. The training was delivered by representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ms. Maja Matejic and Mr. Dragan Urosevic.

The checking of acquired knowledge will be performed after the training. The training participants must meet requirements on attending lectures as prescribed by the Rulebook.

After the successfully completed training, the trainees acquire the right to take the examination for energy managers. The examination is taken in form of a test. Candidates can win the maximum of 100 points for the test. It is considered that the candidate has passed the examination if receiving at least 70 points.

 

The taking of examinations and the delivery of training shall be uniform for the whole territory of Serbia, and the Ministry shall issue the relevant energy manager licenses to persons who pass the professional examination
