Leskovac: Training for EMIS Users in Public Buildings

On Tuesday and Wednesday, June 26th and 27th 2018 a two-day training course was delivered in Technical school “Rade Metalac” in Leskovac to all users of the energy management information system (EMIS) in public buildings in competence of city of Leskovac.

The city of Leskovac and the United Nations Development Programme have been have been working together for more than one year within the framework of the UNDP/GEF Project “Removing Barriers to Promote and Support Energy Management Systems in Municipalities throughout Serbia”. The cooperation is encompases technical assistance provided by UNDP for introducing energy management system in line with the provisions of the Law on Efficient Use of Energy. The City of Leskovac is among the first local self-governments, which has introduced energy management system. Last year the city has appointed licensed energy manager and the energy management team. They have been working together for one year in establishing an inventory of buildings and municipal services for which the city bares operational and maintenance costs. 255 buildings along with 600 meters and 440 transformer units with public lighting outputs have been registered, all of which are in competence of the city. In addition, 11.200 invoices for energy and water have been entered into EMIS. The elaboration of energy balance of the city of Leskovac is well in progress and close to be finalized. The training of the EMIS end-users at the level of building shall follow the finalization of the inventory. The purpose of this training is to delegate the data collection activity to end-users of EMIS thereby supporting energy manager. Upon completion of the training end-users will get an access to their buildings in EMIS, as well as to set of analytical tools for data analysis and reporting. Reporting is envisaged both to the building managers and the energy manager of the city of Leskovac. 

During the training, forty four users from primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, municipality administrations, public and utility companies, local communities, cultural institutions in the territory of the city of Leskovac received training in collecting and entering data into the energy management information system (EMIS). 

Trainees are persons who are, on behalf of budget users of the city of Leskovac, in charge of collecting and entering data on consumption and costs of energy, energy sources and water in the facilities which they have been assigned for. This is the second training course for this category of system users. 

Training was delivered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The workshop was opened by Jasmina Ranđelović, deputy mayor of Leskovac. Aleksandra Stojilković, energy manager of the city of Leskovac and Maja Matejić, UNDP portfolio manager addressed the audience.
